CHESTNUT HILL, Mass., Jan. 5 (UPI) -- Scott Wood hit two key 3-pointers late in the game Saturday and No. 25 North Carolina State held off Boston College 78-73 in its conference opener.
Wood provided the difference down the stretch, scoring all 12 of his points over the final 4 minutes and going 6-of-6 from the free-throw line for the Wolfpack (12-2, 1-0 ACC).
Rodney Purvis connected on 7-of-10 shots from the field en route to 19 points as N.C. State reeled off its eighth straight victory.
Boston College (8-6, 0-1) was led by Ryan Anderson with 22 points and 13 rebounds.
Joe Rahon provided 18 points for the Eagles.
