CHAMPAIGN, Ill., Jan. 5 (UPI) -- Brandon Paul scored 19 points and Nnanna Egwu provided 16 for No. 14 Illinois Saturday in a 74-55 rout of Big Ten rival, No. 8 Ohio State.
Paul grabbed seven rebounds and Egwu pulled down eight boards as the Illini (14-2, 1-1 Big Ten) bounced back from a loss in their first conference game of the season Wednesday at Purdue.
Tracy Abrams had 13 points, six rebounds, five assists and three steals for Illinois.
Deshaun Thomas scored 24 for Ohio State (11-3, 1-1), which shot 33.3 percent from the field.
