SYRACUSE, N.Y., Dec. 29 (UPI) -- C.J. Fair popped in 13 points and Trevor Cooney added 12 off the bench Saturday, hoisting No. 7 Syracuse over Alcorn State 57-36.

The Orange (11-1) also got eight points and six rebounds from DaJuan Coleman in bouncing back from their first loss of the season, suffered Dec. 22 at the hands of Temple.

The triumph was the 901st in the career of Syracuse Coach Jim Boeheim, putting him one behind Bob Knight for second place on the all-time victory list.

The Braves (2-13) were paced by Marquiz Baker with 15 points.
