COL BKB: Temple 83, Syracuse 79

NEW YORK, Dec. 22 (UPI) -- Khalif Wyatt scored 33 points and Anthony Lee hit 21 Saturday to help lead Temple to a 83-79 win over third-ranked Syracuse at Madison Square Garden.

Lee added nine rebounds and the Owls (9-2) converted 29-of-36 free throws to hand the Orange (10-1) its first loss of the season.

Temple was also busy from the 3-point line where them hit 8-of-24 tries.

C.J. Fair led Syracuse with 25 points off the bench. Brandon Triche added 17 points, including one of only two 3-pointers Syracuse hit in 10 attempts.

Syracuse led 40-38 at halftime but Temple roared out with 45 points in the second half and got nine successful free throws -- six by Wyatt -- in the final minute to hold the Orange off.
