CHAMPAIGN, Ill., Dec. 16 (UPI) -- Brandon Paul notched 17 points Sunday, pacing No. 10 Illinois to its 34th straight non-conference victory, 66-53 over Eastern Kentucky.
Tracy Abrams contributed 13 points for the undefeated Fighting Illini (12-0). Joseph Bertrand accounted for 11 points and seven boards as Coach John Groce tied Fletcher Lane (1907-08) for the best start to a season of any first-year Illinois coach.
Paul also grabbed nine rebounds.
Eastern Kentucky (9-1) was led by Corey Walden's 21 points.
