
LOS ANGELES, Nov. 14 (UPI) -- Jordan Adams scored 26 points off the bench Tuesday to lead 14th-ranked UCLA to an 80-79 overtime win over a game UC Irvine.
Adams went 5-of-12 from the field but was perfect in 16 trips to the free-throw line for the Bruins (2-0), who shot 81.5 percent from the line while Irvine (1-1) made only 11-of-21 tries.
David Wear scored 13 points for UCLA and Travis Wear added 12. David Wear led the Bruins with nine rebounds, although UCLA was out-rebounded by the Anteaters 51-39.
Michael Wilder led UC Irvine with 23 points. Will Davis scored 12 points and Derick Flowers added 10.
Wilder hit a 3-pointer with 29 seconds to play in overtime to give UC Irvine a 79-78 lead, but Larry Drew followed up with a layup with 17 seconds to play that gave UCLA the winning margin.
