LOUISVILLE, Ky., Nov. 11 (UPI) -- Louisville's Russ Smith netted 23 points Sunday and the second-ranked Cardinals began their season with a 79-51 non-conference rout of Manhattan.

Smith also provided five steals, while Peyton Siva contributed 10 points and eight assists for the Cardinals (1-0), who are coming off their run to the Final Four in last season's NCAA Tournament.

Kevin Ware also reached double figures with 10 points for Louisville.

The Jaspers (0-1) got 18 points and 14 rebounds from Rhamel Brown.
