LAWRENCE, Kan., Nov. 9 (UPI) -- A 17-point, 12-rebound effort from Jeff Withey Friday brought No. 7 Kansas its 40th straight home-opening victory -- a 74-55 decision over Southeast Missouri.

The Jayhawks held Southeast Missouri to 17 first-half points, a defensive showing which helped Kansas overcome a sub-par shooting night.
