COL BKB: Minnesota 78, Miami (Fla.) 60

CORAL GABLES, Fla., March 20 (UPI) -- Rodney Williams scored 21 points Monday, sparking Minnesota to a 78-60 National Invitation Tournament win over second-seeded Miami-Florida.

Williams went 9-of-10 from the field and grabbed five rebounds. Andre Hollins and Joe Coleman each added 14 points and six boards for the sixth-seeded Golden Gophers (21-14).

Minnesota advances to Wednesday's NIT quarterfinals, where it will take on Middle Tennessee at Murfreesboro for a chance to advance to the semifinal round at Madison Square Garden.

Rion Brown scored 16 points for the Hurricanes (20-13), who shot only 34.4 percent from the field.
