PHILADELPHIA, March 14 (UPI) -- Andre Hollins hit a 3-pointer that touched off a game-closing 20-8 Minnesota run Wednesday, giving the Golden Gophers a 70-61 NIT victory over LaSalle.

LaSalle owned a 53-50 lead when Hollins hit his game-tying shot with 10:25 to play. The Gophers went on to win their 20th game of the season and set up a second-round meeting with Miami.

Rodney Williams led Minnesota with 21 points, Hollins had 15 and Austin Hollins added 14. Minnesota hit 52 percent from the field, but made only 1-of-11 from 3-point range.

The Gophers (20-14) suffered a four-point loss to Michigan in the quarterfinals of the Big Ten Tournament.

LaSalle (21-13), which did not make it past the quarterfinals of the Atlantic 10 tourney, was led by Earl Pettis with 19 points.
