COL BKB: Vanderbilt 77, Florida 67

NASHVILLE, Feb. 28 (UPI) -- Vanderbilt knocked off No. 13 Florida 77-67 Tuesday and earned a first-round bye in the upcoming SEC tournament.

John Jenkins had a game-high 22 points and Jeffrey Taylor tallied 18 for the Commodores (21-9, 10-5 SEC), who shot 52.3 percent from the field.

Bradley Beal led Florida (22-8, 10-5) with 16 points and Erving Walker scored 15. The Gators lost their second game in a row.

Vanderbilt held a 30-27 at halftime and put the game away in the home stretch. The Commodores piled up free throws while Florida, which shot 44.4 percent from the field, failed to score a field goal in the final 4:04.
