COL BKB: Syracuse 71, Connecticut 69

STORRS, Conn., Feb. 25 (UPI) -- Kris Joseph scored 21 points and grabbed seven rebounds Saturday, helping No. 2 Syracuse claim the Big East title with a 71-69 victory over Connecticut.

Fab Melo contributed 11 points, including a go-ahead dunk with 25 seconds left, and grabbed nine rebounds as Syracuse (29-1, 16-1 Big East) won its ninth straight game.

Orange Coach Jim Boeheim collected his 400th career Big East win in the conference-clinching victory.

The Huskies (17-11, 7-9) were led by Jeremy Lamb's 19 points, while Andre Drummond provided 15 points and 13 rebounds.
