LOUISVILLE, Ky., Feb. 13 (UPI) -- C.J. Fair hit the go-ahead layup en route to 13 points Monday and second-ranked Syracuse eked out a rare 52-51 road victory over No. 18 Louisville.

Fair's basket and feed under the basket from Dion Waiters capped a 6-0 run late the game that iced the victory for the Orange (26-1, 13-1 Big East).

The late surge, which salvaged Syracuse's first win in Louisville in eight tries, came after the Cardinals had reeled off a 15-2 run to take the lead with less than 3 minutes remaining.

Fab Melo contributed 11 points for the Orange.

Chane Behanan scored 16 to lead the Cardinals (20-6, 8-5), who had a six-game winning streak broken.
