GAINESVILLE, Fla., Feb. 4 (UPI) -- Kenny Boynton popped in 18 points Saturday and No. 11 Florida shook off a persistent Vanderbilt team, downing the Commodores 73-65 in an SEC game.

The Commodores stayed close in the second half, but Boyton's 3-pointer with 1:03 remaining gave the Gators a 7-point lead at 69-62 and essentially iced the contest.

Bradley Beal contributed 16 points and seven rebounds while Erving Walker chipped in with 11 points, five boards and five assists for Florida (19-4, 7-1 SEC).

The Gators racked up their 19th straight home win and seventh consecutive overall.

Virginia (16-7, 5-3) got a game-high 25 points from Jeffery Taylor while John Jenkins provided 15 points in the loss.
