COLUMBUS, Ohio, Jan. 25 (UPI) -- Jared Sullinger led the way with 20 points and 13 rebounds Wednesday, sending No. 3 Ohio State to a 78-54 decision over Penn State.
The Nittany Lions, playing on the day funeral services were conducted for former Penn State football Coach Joe Paterno, put up only a scant battle against the Buckeyes.
Ohio State gave up only two points over the first 8 minutes and held Penn State to 31 percent shooting from the floor.
William Buford added 15 points and nine rebounds for the Buckeyes (18-3, 6-2 Big Ten Conference). Ohio State has won three in a row.
Tim Frazier led Penn State with 16 points. The Nittany Lions (10-12, 2-7) have lost five out of their last six.
