NASHVILLE, Jan. 21 (UPI) -- Dee Bost netted a layup with 51 seconds left in overtime Saturday, handing No. 15 Mississippi State a 78-77 squeaker over Vanderbilt.
The Bulldogs (16-4, 3-2 SEC) hung on for the victory after John Jenkins' shot at the buzzer was off the mark.
Bost put in a game-high 24 points while Arnett Moultrie contributed 21 points and 14 rebounds as Mississippi State heated up from 3-point territory in the late stages, going 9-of-10 from long range in the second half and overtime.
Vanderbilt (14-5, 4-1), meanwhile, saw its eight-game winning streak snapped.
Jenkins led the Commodores with 21 points while Jeffery Taylor added 19 in the loss.
