COL BKB: Kentucky 79, South Carolina 64

LEXINGTON, Ky., Jan. 7 (UPI) -- Terrence Jones and Marquis Teague combined for 37 points Saturday, powering No. 2 Kentucky past South Carolina 79-64 in both schools' SEC opener.

Jones pumped in 20 points. Teague added 17 and four assists.

Anthony Davis produced a double-double, scoring 12 points and hauling down 10 rebounds as the Wildcats (15-1, 1-0 SEC) won their seventh straight.

South Carolina (8-7, 0-1) saw its four-game winning streak snapped despite 11 points from Malik Cooke, and 10 each from Damontre Harris and Anthony Gill.
