SAN DIEGO, Jan. 6 (UPI) -- An 18-point effort from DeShawn Stephens Thursday boosted No. 25 San Diego State to an 83-52 victory over San Diego Christian.

San Diego Christian, an NAIA school, was overmatched as expected against a team that has won six in a row.

The Aztecs (13-2) owned a 44-26 halftime lead. Garrett Green chipped in 14 points while both Jamaal Franklin and Chase Tapley had 11.

Ryan Rubino led San Diego Christian (4-7) with 13 points.
