LAWRENCE, Kan., Jan. 4 (UPI) -- Travis Releford and Thomas Robinson combined for 31 points and 25 rebounds Wednesday, sending No. 15 Kansas to a 67-49 decision over Kansas State.
The 22nd-ranked Wildcats fell behind 23-7 and still trailed by 15 at the break, but stormed back to within three with 12:30 left to play.
Kansas then pulled away down the stretch with Releford scoring 16 points and grabbing 11 rebounds. Robinson had 14 boards to go with his 15 points, hitting 7-of-11 from the field.
It was the Big 12 Conference opener for both teams. Kansas (11-3) has captured four in a row.
Rodney McGruder led Kansas State with 15 points. The Wildcats (11-2) had won six straight since suffering their only other loss of the campaign to West Virginia.
