COL BKB: Pittsburgh 72, Notre Dame 59

SOUTH BEND, Ind., Dec. 27 (UPI) -- Alex Dragicevich scored 22 points Tuesday and Notre Dame beat No. 22 Pittsburgh 72-59 in the Big East opener for both teams.

Dragicevich drained four 3-pointers and Eric Atkins added 15 points for Notre Dame (9-5, 1-0 Big East).

Jerian Grant contributed 15 points and 9 assists as Notre Dame pulled away in the second half, outscoring the Panthers 47-33 down the stretch.

Pittsburgh (11-3, 0-1) got 13 points and 12 boards from Talib Zanna in its second straight loss. Nasir Robinson added 12 points for the Panthers.
