SYRACUSE, N.Y., Dec. 6 (UPI) -- Dion Waiters came off the bench to pump in 15 points Tuesday and third-ranked Syracuse remained unbeaten with a 62-56 win over Marshall.

Waiters handed off a pair of assists and Kris Joseph added 11 points and eight rebounds for the Orange (9-0).

Scoop Jardine helped Syracuse get off to a 9-0 start for a fourth straight season with 10 points, seven boards, four assists and three steals.

The Thundering Herd (5-2) lost their second consecutive game, due in part to 19 turnovers, which negated 17 points and 14 rebounds from Dennis Tinnon.
