PHILADELPHIA, Nov. 25 (UPI) -- Ashton Gibbs led a balanced Pittsburgh attack Friday and the No. 16 Panthers pulled away in the second half to defeat Pennsylvania 78-58.

Pittsburgh won a game at the Palestra for the first time in 25 years.

The contest was part of the Philly Hoop Group Classic, which is being played at the famed Philadelphia sports arena. Pittsburgh had not played a contest in the building since 1986.

Gibbs scored 16 points, Khem Birch added 15 for Pittsburgh and Nasir Robinson added 14. Pittsburgh improved to 4-1, its only loss coming in an upset against Long Beach State last week.

Pennsylvania (3-3) got 22 points from Zack Rosen.
