Robinson grabbed six rebounds while Ashton Gibbs added 14 points and Travon Woodall had 12 points and 10 assists for the Panthers (3-1), who bounced back from a stunning non-conference home loss to Long Beach State.
Gibbs' foul shots with 1:17 left gave the Panthers a four-point lead and Woodall followed with a layup off a turnover for a six-point cushion with less than a minute left.
Dante Taylor also reached double figures with 11 points for Pittsburgh.
Earl Pettis pumped in 22 points and made five steals for the Explorers (2-2).
