COL BKB: Kansas 100, Towson 54

LAWRENCE, Kan., Nov. 11 (UPI) -- Thomas Robinson was one of six Kansas players in double figures Friday and the No. 13 Jayhawks seized a big early lead on the way to a 100-54 win over Towson.

The Jayhawks built a 40-12 advantage while handing Towson its 20th consecutive loss.

Robinson scored 18 points to go with 11 rebounds. Travis Releford added 14 points, Kevin Young had 13 off the bench, Tyshawn Taylor produced 12, Conner Teahan had 11 and Jeff Withey contributed 10.

Kansas hit 59 percent of its shots from the field and forced 23 turnovers. The Jayhawks turned the ball over just five times.

The game was the first as Towson coach for former Pittsburgh assistant Pat Skerry. He replaced Pat Kennedy after Towson went 4-26 last season.

Kansas will next meet No. 2 Kentucky Tuesday in New York.
