COL BKB: Florida 99, Jackson State 59

GAINESVILLE, Fla., Nov. 11 (UPI) -- Kenny Boynton led Florida to an overwhelming start Friday and the No. 10 Gators opened their season by crushing Jackson State 99-59.

Florida raced to a 41-8 lead before settling for a 59-23 advantage at intermission.

Boynton made 7-of-13 from the field and scored 19 points. Mike Rosario had 19 coming off the bench and freshman Bradley Beal, one of the top recruits in the country this year, added 14 for the Gators.

Florida went 29-8 last season and won the Southeastern Conference regular-season title. The Gators were eliminated in the NCAA Tournament's regional finals by eventual national runner-up Butler.

Jackson State was paced by 20 points from Jenirro Bush.
