A twerking Kate Hansen blesses luge teammate Erin Hamlin's bronze medal

Because a bronze medal isn't a bronze medal until it's been twerked with.

SOCHI, Russia, Feb. 13 (UPI) -- After winning the first ever luge singles medal for the U.S., Olympian Erin Hamlin took her bronze to teammate Kate Hansen for a ceremonial twerking. Thankfully, the video was posted to Instagram for the world to see.

Germany's Natalie Geisenberger dominated the women's singles event yesterday, besting silver medalist and German teammate Tatjana Huefner by more than a second. There has only been one larger margin of victory in the history of the Olympic sport -- first introduced in 1960.

But only one of the three medals was "dance-blessed" by Kate Hansen. Hansen finished 10th in the competition but has captured the attention of viewers around the world with her energy-filled warm-up dance routines.
