PSG go down to Benfica, still top Group C

Edison Cavani scored PSG's lone goal.

By Justin Salhani

Dec. 11 (UPI) -- Paris St. Germain lost 1-2 to Benfica Tuesday night but their prior form was still enough to leave them top of UEFA Champions League Group C.

Edison Cavani opened the scoring on the night before two goals by Benfica from Lima and Nicolas Gaitan gave the Portuguese side the victory. While the win put Benfica on 10 points, Olympiakos edged out Belgian outfit Anderlecht to also end the group stages with 10 points. Olympiakos will carry on to the knockout stages due to a better goal differential than Benfica.
