Nov. 23 (UPI) --Following a smashing start to the season, Tottenham has slipped to ninth place in the league after an embarrassing defeat to Manchester City.

The 6-0 win now puts Manchester City in fourth place, just two points behind Chelsea and Liverpool. Sergio Aguero and Jesus Navas each scored two goals, Alvaro Negredo scored one and Tottenham's Sandro scored an own goal in a performance described by Tottenham Manager Andre Villas-Boas as "embarrassing."

"To lose 6-0 is extremely embarrassing," Villas-Boas said. "We have high expectations for the season and losing to a rival by that scoreline is always difficult.
