On Thursday, the Nets and Celtics negotiated an improbable deal that would send Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce and Jason Terry to Brooklyn.

The deal comes two days after Brooklyn was reported to have an interest in getting Garnett. The division rivals quickly pulled the deal together during the end of Thursday's NBA draft as Garnett worked to waive the no-trade clause in his contract. The deal will not become official until July 10.

For the three Celtics, the Nets will send Gerald Wallace, Kris Humphries, Kris Joseph, Keith Bogans and Reggie Evans to Boston. Even more shocking, the Nets traded away first-round picks in 2014, 2016 and 2018.

The move gives the Nets an all-All-Star starting lineup: Pierce and Garnett join Joe Johnson, Deron Williams and Brook Lopez. Owner Mikhail Prokhorov has promised to win a championship by 2015, and thinks the trade combined with new coach Jason Kidd will help ensure that.

Prokhorov has said that if he doesn't win a championship by then, the billionaire will force himself to get married as punishment.
