Google celebrates the Paralympic Games with new Doodle

March 9 (UPI) -- Google is celebrating the start of the 2018 Paralympic Games with a colorful and animated Doodle.

Google's homepage features a piece of moving artwork that features athletes taking part in sports that will be featured during the Paralympic's from March 9-18 in Pyeongchang, South Korea, including alpine skiing, biathlon, cross-country skiing, ice hockey, snowboarding and wheelchair curling, among others.

The Paralympic Games will feature over 670 athletes, including more female participants than ever before, from 80 different countries competing for more than 80 medals that will be handed out.

"Today's Doodle represents athletes from each of the sports in competition, all racing together to capture a spot on the podium," Google said. "Good luck to all and let the games begin!"
