April 20 (UPI) -- MMA fighter Ronda Rousey announced her engagement Thursday in an interview with TMZ.
Rousey said yes to Travis Browne, her boyfriend since 2015. He proposed last week in New Zealand, according to the report.
"I'm very happy for Ronda and I'm looking forward to the wedding," UFC president Dana White told TMZ.
Browne, 34, fights in the heavyweight division. Rousey, 30, was the UFC women's bantamweight champion when the duo began dating. Since then, she has sunk through the ranks of the UFC, losing consecutive fights to Holly Holm and Amanda Nunes. Browne has lost five of his last seven fights.
In February, after losing a fight to Derrick Lewis, Browne was on the wrong end of some Rousey-centric trash talk.
"Oh, I'll fight whomever Dana White asks me to next," Lewis said after his UFC Fight Night 105 win against Browne. "I just knew I had a bigger heart than him. He calls himself a man, but he likes to put his hands on women. So forget that guy, I've got much more heart than he has."
"Where's Ronda Rousey's fine [expletive] at," Lewis asked.
White has said that he doesn't expect Rousey to return to the Octagon.
Rousey is still ranked the No. 4 bantamweight fighter in the world, despite switching her focus to the silver screen. Browne is the No. 10 ranked heavyweight fighter in UFC. Rousey has had acting roles in The Expendables 3, Furious 7, and Blindspot.
She [12-2] has yet to fight in 2017. Her loss to Nunes came on Dec. 30 at UFC 207 in Las Vegas, Nev.
