Baltimore Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco missed practice for the second straight day on Thursday, putting his availability in question for this weekend's game versus the New York Jets.

Flacco told reporters on Wednesday that he expects to play on Sunday and that the right shoulder issue is "nothing to worry about."

A final determination might not be made until as late as Saturday.

Should the 31-year-old be sidelined on Sunday (1 p.m., ET), backup Ryan Mallett will get the nod for Baltimore (3-3) opposite newly named starter Geno Smith for New York (1-5).

Flacco has irritation in the joint of his throwing shoulder, a league source told ESPN's Ed Werder. Flacco reported his injury to the Ravens on Monday and had an MRI exam.

Flacco has started all six games for Baltimore after healing from the torn ACL that wiped out his 2015 season after 10 contests. He has thrown for 1,589 yards with five touchdowns and four interceptions for the Ravens this season.

Flacco was 26 of 48 for 307 yards but did not have a touchdown in the Ravens' 27-23 loss to the New York Giants in Week 6.
