Lawrence Taylor: Hall of Fame LB arrested for DUI

Pro Football Hall of Famer Lawrence Taylor was arrested Friday in Palm Beach County, Fla., for allegedly driving under the influence after hitting a motorhome and a police car.

The 57-year-old former New York Giants linebacker was driving his Bentley on the Florida Turnpike when the incident occurred, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

More details on the crash will be released by local police on Saturday. There were no injuries reported.

Taylor was headed south about 5:20 p.m. ET when the mishap took place. According to a local television station WPTV, Taylor struck the motorhome while changing lanes and then sideswiped a police cruiser, reportedly damaging its mirrors.

Police took Taylor to the Palm Beach County Jail.

Taylor was one of the greatest pass rushers in NFL history. He retired in 1993 after 13 seasons and two Super Bowl appearances in 1987 and 1991.
