The Denver Broncos released veteran punter Britton Colquitt on Tuesday as the team reduced its roster to 75 players.

Seventh-round draft pick Riley Dixon is expected to replace the 31-year-old Colquitt, who was the longest-tenured player on the Broncos' roster. He joined Denver in 2009 and became the team's starter the following season.

Colquitt was scheduled to begin the final season of a three-year, $11.7 million contract he signed in 2013.

Colquitt is the franchise's all-time leader in gross (45.2 yards) and net (39.1) punting average. He has made 472 punts in his career, with 149 resulting in the ball being placed inside the 20-yard line.

Denver asked Colquitt to take a substantial pay cut off his 2016 salary and put him in a head-to-head competition with Dixon throughout training camp and the preseason.

Dixon punted seven times in Saturday's 17-9 preseason victory over Los Angeles. He averaged 40.9 yards a kick with a long of 56.

Also on Tuesday, the Broncos waived wide receiver Bralon Addison and tackle Kyle Roberts and placed tight end Garrett Graham (shoulder) on reserve/injured.
