The Buffalo Bills released wide receiver Greg Little was among the cuts as the team reduced its roster to 75 players on Tuesday.

Defensive tackles Alameda Ta'amu and Justin Zimmer, linebackers David Hawthorne and Eric Striker were joined by quarterback Austin Trainor, tight end Jimmay Mundine, long snapper Reid Ferguson and center Robert Kugler in being released by Buffalo.

Bills coach Rex Ryan told the Buffalo News that the numerous cuts hit close to home.

"It's the worst," Ryan said. "I think for a coach, especially for myself, you've spent a lot of time with these guys. You've seen guys give everything they've got. You don't feel bad about somebody that doesn't give the maximum effort. Those guys, you don't even care. I'd be more than happy to cut those guys.

"But the guys that have given everything they have, and just wasn't quite good enough, it's tough. I mean there is no doubt it's the worst time as a coach."

Buffalo also placed rookie linebacker Reggie Ragland (knee) on injured reserve and designated cornerback Jonathan Dowling (knee), tight end Chris Gragg (knee) and offensive tackle Justin Renfrow (undisclosed) as waived/injured.
