The Los Angeles Dodgers placed outfielder Yasiel Puig on revocable waivers to gauge interest for the veteran, according to multiple reports Sunday.

If Puig is claimed by another team, the Dodgers could either allow Puig to go to that team without a trade or pull Puig back from waivers.

The Dodgers are more likely to trade Puig in the offseason, according to FOX Sports.

The 25-year-old Puig went sent to Triple-A Oklahoma City on Aug. 2. He was batting just .260 with seven homers and 34 RBIs in 81 games with the Dodgers this season.

Puig is hitting .375 with four home runs in 17 games at Oklahoma City.

He also could be recalled to the majors when rosters expand Sept. 1.
