Bengals reserve running back Cedric Peerman had his left forearm broken during Cincinnati's Sunday night preseason game against the Jaguars at Jacksonville, Fla.

Peerman, a Pro Bowl special teams performer for Cincinnati last year, was hurt in the second quarter. He tried to stiff-arm Davon House, but the Jaguars cornerback grabbed hold of Peerman's arm and used it to drag him down.

His arm was put in an air cast on the sideline, and ESPN.com reported that he likely will miss the entire season.

Heading into his eighth NFL season out of the University of Virginia, Peerman appeared in all 16 games last season but didn't get a carry. His best season on offense was 2012, when he had 36 carries for 258 yards and a touchdown.

A sixth-round draft pick of the Baltimore Ravens in 2009, he was on the roster of the Cleveland Browns and the Lions that year, and he appeared in two games for Detroit. He has been with the Bengals since 2010.

Peerman, 29, has 64 career carries for 334 yards (5.2 yards per carry) and the lone touchdown.

Also in the Sunday night game, Bengals wide receiver A.J. Green exited due to a right knee injury. He is expected to be ready for the final preseason game later this week.
