The Indianapolis Colts' concerns about depth on their offensive line apparently escalated Saturday night when guard Jack Mewhort went down with a knee injury during a preseason game against the Philadelphia Eagles in Lucas Oil Stadium.

An initial report from NFL Network indicated that Mewhort suffered a season-ending torn ACL in his left knee. Colts coach Chuck Pagano said after the game that the team doesn't know the severity of the injury until he sees a doctor.

"Mewhort's got a knee," Colts coach Chuck Pagano said. "He's going to get an MRI. I don't know the severity of it, to be honest with you at this point. We'll know more (Sunday)."

If Mewhort has a severe injury, the Colts' thin offensive line will get thinner. Mewhort has started 30 games the last two seasons after coming out of Ohio State in the third round of the 2014 NFL Draft.

Jon Harrison or rookie Joe Haeg are candidates to take over at guard until Mewhort returns.
