Former champion Ronda Rousey will not be fighting at UFC 205 on Nov. 12 in New York's Madison Square Garden as many had expected.

Company president Dana White confirmed the news about Rousey, who has not fought since losing her bantamweight crown and sustaining the first loss of her career in stunning fashion to Holly Holm at UFC 193 in November. Rousey lost via head-kick knockout.

"She's definitely not fighting in New York," White said Tuesday on the "UFC Unfiltered" podcast. "I'm actually going to start building the New York card this week."

White has stated previously that the 29-year-old Rousey intends to fight again sometime this year. But her return won't be at UFC's much-anticipated first trip to New York since a ban on professional mixed martial arts was lifted earlier this year. The ban had been in place since 1997.

The UFC has two events scheduled in December -- UFC 206 on Dec. 10 in Toronto and UFC 207 on Dec. 30 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
