Baltimore Ravens WR Breshad Perriman vows to play in opener

Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Breshad Perriman expects to be on the field for the season opener on Sept. 11.

"I have no doubt in my mind that I won't be ready. I'm attacking it right now like I will be ready," said Perriman, who missed all of last season with a knee injury after being drafted in the first round by the Ravens.

Perriman suffered a small tear of his ACL in June but passed his physical last week, returning to the active roster days after the Ravens welcomed 37-year-old veteran Steve Smith back from a torn Achilles.

Perriman will play Saturday, coach John Harbaugh said, if he receives medical approval from team trainers. Harbaugh said he will be "holding his breath a little" until he sees Perriman suit up for a game.

"He is in great spirits. He has worked extremely hard. I think he's really grown through all of this and he's learned how to really work with the rehab," Perriman said. "He's been forced to do that. I'm looking forward to seeing how he looks when he comes back."
