San Francisco Giants' Buster Posey exits game with right foot contusion

San Francisco Giants catcher Buster Posey exited Friday's game against the New York Yankees with a right foot contusion.

Posey was pulled after the top of the fourth inning. The Giants announced the injury in the seventh after x-rays were negative.

Posey was injured when he fouled a ball off the top of his foot in the second inning and wound up drawing a walk. He stayed in the game and singled in the fourth but after being stranded at third was replaced by Trevor Brown.

Posey has appeared in 86 games and is batting .288 with 12 home runs and 44 RBIs.
