New York Mets pitcher Noah Syndergaard, Mets outfielder Yoenis Cespedes and Chicago Cubs outfielder Dexter Fowler have been scratched from the National League roster for Tuesday's All-Star Game because of injuries.

Cespedes and Syndergaard left Friday's game with injuries.

Syndergaard departed in the fifth inning because of arm fatigue, and he is also taking anti-inflammatory medication for a bone spur in his pitching elbow.

Cespedes left because of a quadriceps injury.

Fowler has been out since June 18 because of a hamstring injury, but was hoping to return in time for the All-Star Game. On Saturday, he decided he did not want to push it and decided to withdraw. He was the leading vote-getter in the All-Star balloting.

Cespedes and Fowler were named to the National League starting lineup by the fans' vote.

Marcell Ozuna of the Miami Marlins and Carlos Gonzalez of the Colorado Rockies will start in the outfield for the National League, while Pittsburgh Pirates outfielder Starling Marte and Cincinnati Reds outfielder Jay Bruce will replace Fowler and Cespedes on the National League roster.

San Diego Padres left-hander Drew Pomeranz will replace Syndergaard.

Pomeranz is 8-7 with a 2.47 ERA. Marte was hitting .316 with six homers and 32 RBIs before Saturday, and Bruce is hitting .265 with 18 homers and 62 RBIs.

Syndergaard and Fowler plan to attend the All-Star Game in San Diego, but Cespedes does not.

In the American League, injured Boston Red Sox closer Craig Kimbrel will be replaced by Toronto Blue Jays right-hander Aaron Sanchez, who is 9-1 with a 2.94 ERA this season.

Kimbrel will undergo surgery to repair a medial meniscus tear in his left knee and is expected to miss three-to-six weeks.
