CHICAGO -- Cubs left fielder Kris Bryant should be back in action Tuesday after leaving Chicago's 10-4 win over the Cincinnati Reds on Monday due to a left leg contusion.

Bryant was hurt on an outfield collision with center fielder Albert Almora Jr. in the top of the fifth inning, and the Cubs replaced him with a pinch hitter in the bottom half of the inning.

Manager Joe Maddon said he thought Bryant should be ready to start Tuesday.

In his only official at-bat of the game, Bryant hit his National League-leading 24th homer in the second inning. He also drew two walks and scored three runs.

Bryant has six homers and 12 RBIs in his past eight games. On the season, he is batting .279 with a .373 on-base percentage, a .575 slugging percentage and 63 RBIs.

His RBI total ranks second in the NL behind Colorado third baseman Nolan Arenado's 66.
