Hours after Clayton Kershaw landed on the disabled list with a back injury, the Los Angeles Dodgers agreed to acquire right-hander Bud Norris from the Atlanta Braves for two prospects.

Kershaw, the staff ace, required an epidural injection for "on and off" lower back pain according to manager Dave Roberts.

Norris is an eight-year veteran who was drawing trade interest from multiple teams, including the Miami Marlins.

Norris is 3-7 this season with a 4.22 ERA but has a 2.15 ERA, 29 strikeouts and only eight walks in 29 1/3 innings over his last five starts. His next turn in the rotation was set for Friday, making him the likely replacement for Kershaw.
