Restricted free agent center Andre Drummond and the Detroit Pistons are reportedly nearing an agreement on a five-year maximum contract in the $130 million range.

League sources told ESPN.com that Drummond and the Pistons have moved to the final stages of negotiations on a verbal agreement since free agency began Friday at 12:01 a.m. ET.

The deal can't be officially signed until the free-agency moratorium on signings and trades is lifted July 7.

The deal would make the 22-year-old Drummond the highest-paid player in Pistons history.

The Pistons and Drummond mutually agreed not to do a contract extension last October, making him a restricted free agent this summer.

Head coach and team president Stan Van Gundy acted quickly in the opening 24 hours of NBA free agency, also landing former Philadelphia 76ers point guard Ish Smith for three years and $18 million, according to the Philadelphia Inquirer.

Smith, 27, has played for nine teams in six years, including the New Orleans Pelicans and 76ers last season. He averaged 14.7 points, 4.3 rebounds and 7.0 assists, starting in all 50 games, with the Sixers.
