Cleveland Cavaliers exercise option on G Jordan McRae

The Cleveland Cavaliers have exercised their 2016-17 team option on guard Jordan McRae, the Cleveland Plain Dealer reported.

McRae's salary will be at a shade under $1 million guaranteed. The tem faced a Wednesday deadline to either allow the 25-year-old guard to become a free agent or pick up his option.

McRae, drafted by the San Antonio Spurs in the 2014 draft, scored 36 points in the regular-season finale against Detroit.

While with the Canton Charger of the Development League, McRae erupted for 61 points.
