New York Yankees right fielder Carlos Beltran left Tuesday's game with the Texas Rangers due tightness in his right hamstring after getting a single in the bottom of the first inning.

He underwent an MRI exam that came back clean, and he is listed as day-to-day, according to manager Joe Girardi.

Beltran singled to left field off left-hander Cole Hamels and appeared to feel something in his leg when he reached first base. Manager Joe Girardi and trainer Steve Donahue immediately consulted with Beltran before lifting the 39-year-old from the game.

Beltran has been the Yankees' best hitter for most of the season, batting .297 with 19 home runs and 53 RBIs.
