Ex-Minnesota Vikings QB Tavaris Jackson charged with aggravated assault

Former Seattle and Minnesota quarterback Tarvaris Jackson was arrested and charged early Friday morning with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in Kissimmee, Fla.

Jackson is accused of pulling a gun on a woman -- reported to be his wife -- and threatening her while vacationing at a resort. The charge is a third degree felony.

He was booked in a county jail and posted bond later Friday afternoon.

Jackson was intoxicated when he returned to the resort around midnight, according to the police report. He allegedly kicked in the upstairs bedroom door and began yelling at the woman, who went downstairs and grabbed a knife.

Jackson, according to the arrest report, grabbed a loaded gun from a bag and pointed the gun at the woman saying, "I'll kill you."

A witness in the house quickly grabbled the weapon away from Jackson.

According to the police report, there were three children asleep in bedrooms in the house.

Jackson, when confronted by police, said he did not have a gun.

Jackson later admitted to having a gun but said he never pointed it at the woman, who replied, "You better be accurate because you ain't accurate on the field."

Jackson spent his first five seasons with Minnesota, went to Seattle, Buffalo and back to the Seahawks.
