Buffalo Bills coach Rex Ryan added more boom to his "Ground and Pound" running game.

The Bills signed Dan "Boom" Herron to bring more depth to a backfield with plenty of talent.

Herron, 27, played at Ohio State and with the Indianapolis Colts.

To create a roster spot, the Bills waived former Syracuse defensive back Julian Whigham, the first of the team's 14 undrafted free agents in the 2016 draft class to be released.

Herron has played in 35 career games including four last season with the Bills.
