The Minnesota Vikings signed defensive tackle Bruce Gaston and waived defensive end B.J. DuBose with an injury designation on Tuesday.

DuBose tore an ACL during the Vikings' Organized Team Activities last week. The injury will keep the 2015 sixth-round draft pick off the field in 2016.

In his place comes Gaston, who spent first two NFL seasons with the Arizona Cardinals, New England Patriots, Miami Dolphins, Green Bay Packers and Chicago Bears.

Last year, Gaston received his most extensive playing time with the Bears, compiling eight tackles, four quarterback hits, one tackle for loss and one sack in 11 weeks on the active roster. The undrafted free agent also played in two games for the Packers.

Gaston is likely to slide into a backup role behind Sharrif Floyd and Linval Joseph with the Vikings.
